Nappy bucket,

to store your dirty nappies, no need to soak unless you wish too. You can buy a net to hold the nappies, you then put this into the washing machine with the nappies so you never need to touch the dirty nappies.

Keeping your nappy soft,

There are a few tips on keeping your nappy soft, firstly I would advise only using half the amount of washing powder you would normally use, washing powder can build up in the nappy, which will make the nappy less absorbent.

Rather than using fabric softener, use white vinegar. Fabric softener decreases absorbency, but white vinegar will keep your nappies soft without effecting the performance.

Spin drying is another way to keep your nappies soft, but to reduce the effect on the environment, I would advise line drying then finishing off in the spin dryer for 10 minutes.

I would also recommend Stripping your nappy occasionally......

Stripping your nappy

This means to clean the cloth of any built up washing powder, to do this I would wash the nappies in washing up liquid, this also cleans your washing machine at the same time!

Pre-Wash your nappies

If you wash your nappy a few times before you use them, they will be more absortant. When washing your nappies, use half the amount of washing powder you would usually use, and dont use fabric softener, try using white vinegar instead, this also helps the nappies to be absortbant.

Pre-Stuff your pocket

If you use pocket, put the stuffing in after washing, this saves time when putting the nappy on, especially if you have a wriggly baby. Also saves time and space in your changing bag when you are about and about.

Wet bag

Wet bags are great for when you are out, they store your dirty nappies until you get home. I made my own, it;s very simple, you will need pul fabric and if you would like to make it a bit more colourful, any other fabric to cover, i used a aqua fleece.
